Attending
school is often more than just learning about basic
subjects. In school, kids learn about life. They
begin learning about responsibility. They learn
about themselves, such as what they are good at and
also not so good at. They learn how to overcome
adversity, and they learn about friendships.
The students at Mount Pulaski Grade School and High
School have had one such lesson. Fourth-grader
Landon Watkins was diagnosed with a brain tumor
earlier this year. Landon has had one surgery as
part of his treatment. On Thursday, he went to
Chicago for a second surgery. To show their support,
the grade school teachers and students, along with
the high school soccer team, were all with Landon in
spirit, showing their support and well wishes by
wearing their #teamlandon shirts and jerseys to
school.
According to the Team Landon Facebook page, the
process began around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday morning
and took several hours, wrapping up late in the
evening. The page also reported that Landon was
doing well. Landon has a public page. To support
him, and send well wishes to him and his family
search Team Landon from your Facebook page.
