Broadway
Street from North Kickapoo west to the alleyway
in downtown Lincoln is temporarily closed. On
Tuesday afternoon, the city began urgent repairs
to a failed sewer main and manhole just west of
the intersection. Tuesday evening, Street
Superintendent Walt Landers said that the repair
work is going to take a couple of days, but he
has a goal to at least have the street re-opened
before the weekend. Landers also noted that the
sewer main was one of the older mains in the
city, constructed with brick.
