It
was a deeply emotional moment for the
entire Storer family – Terry, Brandon
and Patti – when as a surprise son
Brandon was brought in just at the
moment his father was bestowed a special
Emergency Management Agency award and
recognition. He had flown in from the
east coast for the event.
Far left is EMA Director Dan Fulscher.
Far right is Illinois Representative Tim
Butler. Storer is retiring with high
acclaims for his years of service to
Logan County, most recently as EMA’s
Deputy Director.
LDN will have more in a future edition
on Storer and all the other awards made
before the Logan County Board on
Thursday evening.

Tuesday
evening Mayor Seth Goodman recognized
two more local citizens, based on
nomination from the community.
Goodman has been taking nominations for
a citizen of the week in two categories,
youth, and adult.
The youth recognition this week went to
Erin Barrick. Her nomination was based
on Erin's overall attitude and behavior.
Erin was noted as being an outstanding
young person who is kind to all her
peers, and devotes a great deal of her
energy to the annual Convoy for Kids for
St. Jude's, and works to raise money for
the charitable event.
The adult recognition went to Cherie
Aper. She is a dedicated teacher at
Washington-Monroe School in Lincoln as
well as being an outstanding volunteer.
She works to serve her church, and
frequently donates at the local food
pantry. She’s dedicated to her parents,
and visits them daily to make sure they
have all they need, and is also a
volunteer at the Humane Society of Logan
County.
