As
a prelude to the community-wide 2018
Wellness Expo at the Park District
today, yesterday fifth grade students
from around the county enjoyed an
invitation-only day at the Expo that was
designed and fine-tuned to their age
level. Among the many events of the day
were fun and games emphasizing the
importance of not being a couch potato.
There were also a number of booths
including SIU School of Medicine talking
about helmet safety, the American Cancer
Society and Logan County Relay for Life
talking about the negative impact
smoking has on the lungs, a fund display
about the brain sponsored by Memorial
Medical Center, a guided tour of an
ambulance by the Logan County Paramedics
Association, and a safe alternative to
using dangerous chemicals around the
home offered by Melaleuca.
Guests today may expect to see these
same vendor booths, as well as many,
many others.
