On
Thursday last week the Logan County
Opioid Task force met to look at
strategies and goals for 2018. The
ultimate goal is to save lives impacted
by opioid addiction. Among the
strategies is educating the community on
these dangerous drugs and how to prevent
addictions that are attributable to
prescription drug misuse. One way to do
this is remove unused prescriptions from
the medicine cabinet, disposing of them
in a safe and appropriate manner. Among
the materials shared on Thursday were
fliers promoting the safe use, storage,
and disposal of prescription
medications. Logan County offers a
continuous "drug take back" program
through the Logan County Department of
Public Health and the Lincoln Police
Department.
