On
a lovely Monday evening, members of the
Logan County Genealogical and Historical
Society enjoyed spending time at the
home of Bob and Lynne Neal on Elkhart
Hill. The Neals’ live in a serene
setting that encourages guests to sit
back, take a deep cleansing breath, just
relax and enjoy. The home was built in
1837 by Elkhart forefather John Latham.
It later became the home of the property
of John D. Gillett, another historical

The David McIntire family |
Earlier
this summer Logan Lanes owner/manager Shawn Taylor
announced that some new records had been set at the
popular bowling alley in Lincoln. Taylor recognized
Justen Steffens who not only broke the Logan Lanes
record, but also bowled the "highest series in the city
of Lincoln, ever." Steffens broke the old record held by
the late David McIntire by one pin.
Taylor recognized both McIntire (series high - 853) and
Steffens (series high 854) with plaques. McIntire's
plaque was accepted by his wife and daughters along with
his parents. Steffens accepted his award in the company
of his father.
