At
the Tuesday meeting of the Lincoln City Council following the
resignation of Seth Goodman, Alderman Tracy Welch announced that he
would like to take on the role of Acting Mayor for the city of
Lincoln.
Welch announced in 2019 that he would seek the office of Mayor in
2021 when Goodman announced he would not seek reelection. This week
Welch said that he is prepared to take on the role of Acting Mayor
until the next election when he runs for the position of mayor.
Aldermen will vote to approve Welch for the acting mayoral position
at the next voting session.
