During
the two weeks from February 14th through
February 25th, the Lincoln Police Department
hosted its second annual D.A.R.E. Officer
Training Program for candidates from throughout
the state and also Minnesota, Wisconsin,
Indiana, Kansas and Alaska. The program is led
by Lincoln D.A.R.E. Officer Christy Fruge, who
serves the D.A.R.E. America program and is the
Illinois D.A.R.E Officer Coordinator.
Officer Fruge, seated front far right, is
assisted with the training by mentors from
Addison Illinois Police Department, the St.
Clair County Sheriff's Department and an
educator from Iowa. There were 16 students in
this year's graduating class.
