For Thursday, there are two pink shirt pictures featured. The first is the staff at Advanced Eyecare, and the second from Modern Brake and Alignment. We appreciate these folks taking time out from their day to take a photo and send a message to all the cancer warriors in our community.

It is an excellent time to get a bit 'punny' and say that when you see your body clearly and understand the changes that can occur under normal circumstances, you can put the brakes on worry. The best way to do this when it comes to breast health is to do those self-exams, and if you find a lump, don't assume it is bad news. Let your doctor investigate, and often you will learn that it is something as benign as Fibrosis or fibrocystic changes in the breast tissue.

Read more about this common occurrence in today's edition of Lincoln Daily News.

On Monday evening, the Logan County Genealogical & Historical Society in Lincoln heard from Bill Donath regarding his book about the Spanish Flu epidemic in the first quarter century of the 1900s.

The meeting was held in a fresh, clean, smoke-free center on North Chicago Street. The center reopened to the public this week after recovering from smoke damage from a neighboring fire. There will be a ribbon cutting and open house on Saturday, October 22nd.

The ribbon cutting will be at 1:45 p.m., with the open house starting at 2 p.m.
