In February, the Lincoln
Police Department hosted the third annual State-wide
D.A.R.E. Officer Training Program. The 10 day training
focuses on working with officers who will return to
their home communities and strive to influence local
youth in making sound life-style choices.
This year, 20 officers have graduated from the program.
LPD D.A.R.E. Officer Christy Fruge’ (pictured seated
center) serves the D.A.R.E. America program as the
Illinois D.A.R.E. Officer Coordinator. As such, she is
responsible for coordinating, among other things, the
training venue for the annual courses.
