On Monday, December 2nd, the Logan County Board held
its annual organizational meeting to begin its new
fiscal year. Among the items on the agenda for the
evening was the election by the board membership of
a new chairman to serve for the next 12 months.
Board member JR Glenn was nominated by board member
Dale Nelson and Michael DeRoss was nominated by
board member Jim Wessbecher. When the item came to a
vote, Glenn won the majority vote with eight in
favor, three opposed and one seat currently vacant.
Julie Bobell was the sole nominee for vice-chair of
the board and won by unanimous consent.

Small Business Saturday is a
nationwide event that comes around on the Saturday
after Thanksgiving, nestled nicely in between Black
Friday and Cyber Monday. It is an opportunity for
small businesses such as the many stores in the
heart of Lincoln to draw attention to all that they
have to offer local shoppers.
In addition to being great places to shop, the
downtown businesses are friendly and offer sweet
surprises every now and again, such as none other
than the Grinch who was out and about, delighting
children who were shopping with their families.
