Early in the afternoon on Monday, December 16th the stairwell walls
were all that remained standing at the two Sangamon Street
properties formerly known as Tactical Bunker and All About Fun
Inflatables. The buildings were destroyed by fire earlier this year
leaving just a partial shell of what they once were. Crews have been
working to clean up the property and on Monday evening, City
Building Zoning and Safety Officer Wes Woodhall told the Lincoln
City Council that everything was down and all that was left to do
was finish the cleanup work.
He said there would also be an inspection of the now exterior wall
of the building that was connected to the two destroyed, to
determine if the wall was structurally sound.
Sangamon and Pulaski Streets, where the demolition is taking place,
remain closed for the time being. Woodhall offered no timeline on
when the site would be determined safe enough for traffic to resume.
