Monday evening, during the city council meeting, Lincoln Mayor Tracy Welch announced that there will be a change in plans for the annual Lincoln Christmas Parade and Santa at the Depot.

Because the weather is expected to be very cold, some of the entries for the parade have cancelled and the Railsplitter Antique Auto Club has said they will not be able to drive the grand marshal this Thursday night. Because of this, the city is going to reschedule the parade to Thursday, December 11th.

HOWEVER, because Santa is on a very tight schedule, he cannot come on the 11th. Therefore the visits with Santa at the Lincoln Depot WILL TAKE PLACE THIS WEEK, on Thursday December 4th at 6:30 p.m.

Santa will be escorted to the Depot on Thursday evening by the Lincoln Fire Department where he and Mrs. Claus hope to enjoy a large turnout of children, anxious for a chance to whisper their Christmas wishes in Santa’s ear.
