A new attraction at the Abraham Lincoln National Railsplitting Festival this year was Trick
Riding and Drill Team. The group was from the Cottonwood Ranch near Midland City on the
Logan/DeWitt County line, and offered a lot of excitement for the audience.
The Drill Team featured formation riding where each female rider carried a United State
Flag. And a drill at the end with the horses and riders moving to the tune of Happy Trails to
You. The Drill Team was led by Rita Coleman, the owner of Cottonwood Ranch.
The three member Trick Riding Team performed some daring tricks for the audience.
