          stage presence and ability.

The winners go on to compete

at the State Fair Contest in

          January.

          The competition is divided into

          two groups:

Junior Division - not over 14

years of age as of October 1.

Senior Division - over 14 and

under 22 as of October 1.

          The junior division was full

          of lively singing and dancing.

          Thirteen-year-old Bailey Baker

          belted out Shawn Mendes’

          “Stitches.” And, thirteen-year-

          old Zoi Dunse spiritedly sang

          Francesca Batistelli’s “He

          Knows my Name.” While

          eight-year-old Ivy Sandel

          gracefully danced her way

          across the stage to Audio

          Adrenaline’s “He Moves,

          you Move.” Thirteen-year-

          old Macee Walton soulfully

          sang Miley Cyrus’ “Fly on

          the Wall.” Eleven year old

          McKayla Anderson sweetly

          sang Dani and Lizzy’s

          “Dancing in the Sky.” And,

          eleven year old Grace Doolin

          performed a lyrical dance to

          Florence + The Machine’s

          “Never Let Me Go.” Rounding

out the category with a duet

          that began with some playful

          bickering was Bailey Baker

          and Zoi Dunse singing

“Anything You Can Do, I Can

          Do Better.”

          The normally small senior

          division had just one but

          talented entry this year with

          Emily Johnson and Jonathan

          Thomas. Accompanied by

          Thomas on the guitar, Johnson

          sang “Funny,” an original song

          they composed.

          While the judges tabulated the

          scores, contestants nervously

          awaited the results. First

          place in the junior division

          went to McKayla Anderson,

          followed by Grace Doolin in

          second place, Zoi Dunse and

          Bailey Baker in third place,

Ivy Sandel in fourth place, and

          Macee Walton in fifth.

          In the senior division, Emily

          Johnson and Jonathan

          Thomas were awarded first

          place. Anderson, Johnson,

and Thomas will vie for the

top prize at the State Fair

          competition next January.
