The Caregiver Lap

After the Survivor Lap
came the Caregivers Lap.
At this time the survivors
were joined by the people
who offer them daily
support at home. Most of
these are family members
who to some extent at least,
put their lives on hold
so they can be actively
involved in the care and
treatment of their loved
ones.
Also joining in this group
were several caregivers
whose cancer victim’s battle
has come to an end through
passing. It’s touching to
see these people continue
on in the Relay because
they know the work of the
American Cancer Society
is of great importance and
their hope is that no other
caregiver will have to suffer
the loss of the one they love
dearly.
