[DEC. 13, 2003]  Ronland Ranson scored the winning goal on an out of bounds play with no time remaining as Shawnee downed Lincoln College 83-81 in the Lynx Classic at Lincoln Friday night.

 Lincoln College drops to 6-5 for the season while Shawnee improves to 5-9.

Shawnee had a 41-39 lead at half-time and made the lead stand up despite a quick second half start by the Lynx. Rodney Williams scored 11 of the first 18 points of the second half as the Lynx went on an 18-3 run to take a 57-44 lead with 14:39 left in the game. Shawnee battled back and took their first lead of the half on a three point goal by Robert Robinson, 77-75, with 3:24 to play. The score was knotted at 79 and 81 before Ranson put in the game winning goal.

Both teams shot the ball well with Lincoln College connecting at a 56 percent clip while Shawnee hit 52 percent. The winners had a 33-28 rebounding edge.

Robinson scored 22 points to lead the winners while Ranson added 21 and Jermey McCandey added 16. Rodney Williams led the Lynx with 21 points with Michael Henderson adding 17. Aaron Williams and Rueben Trotter each scored 10 for the Lynx.

Lincoln College (81) - Tony Gulley 1-2-4, Stevan Nelson 0-0-0, Jason Moore 2-1-5, Michael Henderson 7-3-17, Rodney Williams 6-4-21, Rueben Trotter 5-0-10, Nick Malone 3-0-6, Andre Mayne 0-0-0, Ryan Lazzarini 3-2-8, Aaron Williams 3-4-10. Totals - 30-16-81. Three point goals - R. Williams 5.

Shawnee (83) - Brad Norman 1-0-3, Kente Hart 0-0-0, Jermey McCandey 7-2-16, Travis Hill 3-0-9, Alex Fischer 1-0-2, Andrew Hosman 0-1-1, Robert Robinson 8-3-22, Marcus Barham 4-1-9, Ronland Ranson 8-5-21. Totals - 32-12-83. Three point goals - Norman, Hill 3, Robinson 3.
