[DEC. 6, 2003]  INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Two Lincoln College wrestlers reached the semifinals of the Indiana Little State wrestling tournament here Friday. Both are competing in the semifinals of the championship bracket Saturday.

 Joe Hasseman, a sophomore from Franklin, Ind., wrestled at 133 pounds and won both of his matches by scores of 10-8. Hasseman defeated Mike Smith of the University of Indianapolis in his first match and then stopped Joel Kulich of Muskingum in his second match. 

At 157 pounds, Steve Woeckener, a sophomore from Taylor Ridge, decisioned Doug Stehlin of Wilmington 14-4 and then stopped Errol Robinson of Muskingum 5-2 to reach the semifinals. 

Josh Buatte, 125, lost his first-round match 7-2 to Rob Dearwester of Mount St. Joseph and then beat Jeremy Johnson of Millikin by a fall in 3:32. At 141 pounds, Chis Ravenna lost a 4-2 decision to Luke Spurlock of Heidelberg and then lost an 8-7 decision to Ron Haken of Mount St. Joseph. 

Kevin Amy, 149, lost his first match to Jeremy Salyers of Heidelberg by a fall in 0:39, then lost to Chris Descourquez of Millikin by a fall in 5:02. Hopeton Daubon, 157, lost his first-round match 15-7 to Adam Miller of Wabash College, and Eric Brozman lost by fall in 5:02 to Jerry Stevens. Brozman then came back to decision Todd Taft of Rose-Hilman 10-3. Daubon then lost by fall in 1:10 to David Burns of University of Indianapolis. 

At 165 pounds, Ben Murray won his first match 3-2 over Chis Deutscher of Manchester and then lost to Jacob Rodriquez of Millikin by fall in 0:30. Scott Hennings lost by a fall in 3:55 to Richie Minner of Muskingum. Frank Beasley was beaten by Derek Donelson in 3:41 of the 165 class. Beasley then came back to beat Adam Lindres in 3:32 and stopped teammate Ben Murray in 3:55. Hennings lost his second match 5-2 to Kevin Meyer of Wabash. 

Dustin Gordon, 174, won a major decision, 10-1, over Ben Gray of Muskingum and then beat Jon Albright of Wabash in 1:59 before losing a 5-3 decision to Ian Emmons of Mount St. Joseph.

At the heavyweight class, Pete Mueller pinned James Samules of Manchester in 5:55 before losing 10-8 to Christian Knight of Findley. Mueller then pinned Ryan Bakley in 0:49 and won a 13-8 decision over Ross Paarthamora of Mount St. Joseph. Matt Overman of Manchester then won in 1:46 by a fall over Mueller. Also at the heavyweight division, Kyle Stevenson lost a 7-6 decision to Matt Overman before beating Matt Hyer of Muskingum 16-1. Jared Poweski then decisioned Stevenson 2-1.
