Helen Haberland

Helen L. Haberland, 84, formerly of San Jose, died Monday (Nov. 3, 2003) at 12:50 a.m. at Maple Ridge Care Centre in Lincoln.

Her funeral was Friday morning at Hurley Funeral Home in San Jose. Visitation was on Thursday at the funeral home.

Burial is in Green Hill Cemetery, rural San Jose.

Mrs. Haberland was a homemaker.

She was born Dec. 23, 1918, in Blackwell, Okla., to James and Leota Eudaily. She married Clarence "Tony" Haberland on April 2, 1938, in Iowa. He died April 1, 1997.

Survivors are one son, Tony (and Valorie) Haberland of Mountain Home, Idaho; one daughter, Lela (and David) Wahl of Springfield; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clarence "Toots" Eudaily of Montana and Paul "Snowball" Eudaily of San Jose; and two sisters, Melba Langenbahn of San Jose and Barbara Fanders of Pekin.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, one sister and one son, Terry Haberland.

She was a member of San Jose United Methodist Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

 

Alma Baumann

Alma B. Baumann, 92, of Mount Pulaski died Wednesday (Nov. 5, 2003) at 6:20 p.m. at Vonderlieth Living Center.

Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with Bill Shanle officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service.

Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.

Mrs. Baumann was a retired teacher.

She was born Dec. 12, 1910, at Niantic to Daniel and Blanche Gasaway Ervin. She married Wilhelm F. Baumann at Niantic on Dec. 24, 1935. He died Oct. 16, 1992.

Survivors are one daughter, Janette (and William) Hinrichs of Rockford; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

She was of the Christian faith.

She was a member of the DWYW Club, Home Extension and Loyal Daughters of the Church.

Memorials may be made to Vonderlieth Living Center or the Alzheimer's Association.
