Lincoln speech team places first overall at Normal West     Send a link to a friend

[NOV. 11, 2003]  In competition at Normal West the Lincoln Community High School speech team won the sweepstakes trophy as the first-place team overall. Individually the novice team was first, scoring 80 points, and the varsity team was second. It was the second tournament of the year for LCHS.

Varsity champions for Lincoln were Brittany Feese and Brady Gerdts in dramatic duet acting, Tom Swanson in prose reading, Katie Muck in dramatic interpretation, and Lindsey Boerma in humorous interpretation.

Doug Rohrer, third in dramatic interpretation

Dour Rohrer and Lindsey Boerma, second in humorous duet

Brady Gerdts and Kasey Pepperell, third in humorous duet

Katie Muck, seventh in humorous interpretation

Brittany Feese, third in prose

Brian Welter, second in original comedy

Brandon Davis, third in declamation

Amy Schumacher, fifth in oratory, seventh in impromptu

Audrey Beach, sixth in oratory

Brian Welter, fifth in radio

Tom Swanson, second in special occasion

Fay Allison, sixth in special occasion

Novice champions were Hannah Snyder in extemporaneous, Sid Comstock in impromptu, Sonya Twist in declamation, Rachel Kasa in verse and Jill Patric in special occasion.
