Bomke, Brauer hear from veterans and
officials as task force meets

[NOV. 11, 2003]  SPRINGFIELD -- State Sen. Larry Bomke, R-Springfield, and Rep. Rich Brauer, R-Petersburg, attended a recent hearing of the Senate Republican Task Force on Veterans. The task force met at the Illinois State Military Museum at Camp Lincoln in Springfield on Friday.

Led by Sen. Adeline Geo-Karis, R-Zion, the task force heard from state officials on their efforts to assist veterans returning home from Iraq. Local veterans of all wars and branches of service were invited to speak on issues affecting them.

A final hearing will take place downstate later this year before the task force makes its final report to the Senate.
