Food science team competes at
national convention

[NOV. 24, 2003]  The Hartsburg-Emden FFA food science team competed in the Food Science and Technology Career Development Event at the National FFA Convention Oct. 29-Nov. 1 in Louisville, Ky. The team competed in four areas: sensory evaluation, safety evaluation, a written test and product development.

The Hartem team received a silver emblem. Natalie Coers was awarded a gold emblem as an individual, while Krista Ubbenga, Alyssa Moehring, and Amanda Johnson all received silver emblem as individuals.

The FFA strives to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agriculture education.
