"It was a good opener for us
and a good victory," said Lincoln coach Ben Massena. "We had several
shots on goal, but we didn't get many in the net; however, it was
enough for the win."
Ryan Ash, a Lincoln High School
grad, scored the first Lincoln College goal, with a left-foot kick
from about 35 yards out that went into the upper corner of the goal.
The second and winning goal for the Lynx was scored by Shane
Dolieslager from about six yards out with an assist from Pat
Barrett. That goal came with about 15 minutes left in the first
half, and neither team was able to score in the second half.
Lincoln College opens it home season Saturday at 1 p.m. against East
Central Community College in the Bonanza-Domino's Pizza Classic. The
second game will pit Cincinnati State against South Suburban
Community College. The losers will play at 11 a.m. Sunday, with the
winners playing for the championship at 1:30 p.m.
