[SEPT. 29, 2003]  A National Weather Service spokeswoman, Lucy Plahmer, reported that an F0 tornado touched down one mile east of Broadwell at 5:25 p.m. Friday. A resident on 900 Street received the warning, looked out of his home, saw the tornado and was able to take shelter in time. The windows and cellar doors were blown out by the funnel cloud.

ESDA reported that in Chestnut a tree fell on a truck at 5:28 p.m. And in Mount Pulaski winds took down six to eight trees at 5:30 p.m. One tree fell on a garage.

No injuries were reported.

Illinois departments of Transportation and Corrections will have crews out to chip and remove tree debris off the public right of ways beginning Tuesday morning.
