'Railers Storming Through America'

[SEPT. 29, 2003]  The teaching staff and student body at Lincoln Community High School kick off the annual celebration of our home school and home teams. Fun activities throughout the week build unity and school spirit.

Each day will have its own theme. Dress-up day themes for this week:

Monday, Sept. 29 -- "Casual California Day" -- Wear your pajamas!

Tuesday, Sept. 30 -- "Midwest: the Breadbasket of the World" -- Dress like a farmer!

Wednesday, Oct. 1 -- "Dress like a tourist" -- Wear clothes that clash. Senior Dress-up Day!

Thursday, Oct. 2 -- "Hawaiian Paradise Day!" -- Wear tropical clothes.

Friday, Oct. 3 -- "Lincoln, ‘Home of the Railers,’ Day!" -- Wear red and green!

Other activities

Tuesday, Sept. 30

Float judging, 3:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 1

Cookout and Wacky Olympics, 5:30 p.m. at the football field

If raining, it will be in the gym.

Thursday, Oct. 2

Bonfire and snake dance, 8:30 p.m. or after the volleyball game.

Friday, Oct. 3

Pep assembly, 12:45 p.m. King and queen will be announced.

Early dismissal, after assembly

Homecoming parade, 2:30

Football pre-game, 6 p.m.

Varsity game vs. Taylorville, 7 p.m.

Royalty and class floats will be announced at halftime.

Dance committee starts decorating for dance after game.

Saturday, Oct. 4

Float tear-down and dance decorating (all council members), 9 a.m.

Parade rain date, 10 a.m.

Homecoming dance in back gym, 8 p.m.

Royalty dance, 10 p.m.

Dance tear-down, 11 p.m.
