Bomke and other members of the
committee were joined by children from Jackson Middle School in
Villa Park, who eagerly showed off the salamander and the turtle to
committee members. The brightly colored duo won in a statewide
online election process spearheaded by Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn.
House Bill 847 now advances to the entire Senate for
consideration before being sent to the governor for final approval.
