[APRIL 22, 2005]  Lincoln College collected 21 hits on its way to a doubleheader sweep over Springfield College here Thursday afternoon. Lincoln College won the first game 5-1 and took the nightcap 13-5.

Kyrstina Gomez won the opener with a five-hit outing, with five strikeouts and one walk. "Tina was solid as a rock, great command of her pitches and was never in serious trouble," said Lincoln coach John Andrews. Leading the Lynx offense were Ashley Shaw and Kelly Nader with two hits each. Both had a pair of RBIs and both connected for triples.

In the second game, Shanna Goodman picked up the victory in her first outing since joining the squad. Andrews said, "Shanna did a nice job of throwing strikes and letting her defense work for her." Lincoln College gave Goodman plenty of support by scoring in every inning. Hayward collected three hits to pace the LC attack, while Nader, Smith and Ziegler each had two hits. Smith and Stewart each had three RBIs in the contest.
