To the editor:
It may not be sports, but Wal-Mart does show community support
If Wal-Mart doesn't care about this community, then why do they
support schools, churches and other nonprofit organizations?
Wal-Mart is one of the largest contributors to the Children's
Miracle Network, also. Wal-Mart puts thousands of dollars back into
this community every year.
Yes, children's sports are important, but there are a lot of
things that are much more important. I have a 5-year-old child and
would love for him to be on a Wal-Mart-sponsored team, but there are
a lot of other places where the money is more needed.
