'Terrific Teachable Moments' -- character education in 10 minutes          Send a link to a friend

[FEB. 25, 2005]  Early childhood education teachers and child care providers are invited to a "Terrific Teachable Moments" workshop. Logan County Extension will host this training on March 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. Judy Schumacher, youth development educator with University of Illinois Extension, will be the presenter for this workshop.

Everyone who works with children knows the value of a teachable moment. With "Terrific Teachable Moments," you can respond to character and behavior issues at a moment's notice. The hands-on, minds-on mini lessons, about 10 minutes each, equip you to help children make positive character choices. Activities are designed around the experiential learning cycle, and the Illinois Learning Standards addressed are identified.

Cost of this workshop is $5 per person and each in attendance will receive a certificate of completion verifying two hours of in-service credit for attending.

Preregistration and advance payment are required. Please call 732-8289 to receive a registration form by March 9.
