Author and poet Brian P. Cleary visited  Washington-Monroe School yesterday morning. In the picture Cleary talks to the kindergarten through second-graders and special needs class.

The grant to have Mr. Cleary come was given by the Illinois Reading Council and was written by three teachers from Washington-Monroe: Bev Wunderlin, Gail Zimmer and Mary Clark. Cleary spent the day teaching students the magic of words.
