week helping out at the 2010 Logan County Fair. Although this
year's fair is over, our coverage will continue through tomorrow with

In
this May 20, 2009, photo, a sign indicates the number of stairs to the top as a
journalist ascends the narrow spiral staircase to the crown inside the Statue of
Liberty in New York. Had the smoke alarm on July 21 this year not been a malfunction
and there had actually been a fire in the 125-year-old structure, the New York
City Fire Department and National Park Service were prepared to fight it with
fireboats and equipment already in place on the island.
