The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens shows Gen. George S. Patton Jr., right, presenting Huntington trustee Robert Millikan with an original 1935 typescript of the Nuremberg Laws, signed by Adolf
Hitler on June 11, 1945.
During the final days of World War II, as American soldiers were returning home
from Germany with helmets, swastika-inscribed flags and other Nazi memorabilia,
Patton was packing up his own souvenirs, including four pages of these documents that set up the
legal framework for the Nazis to kill 6 million Jews.
