It
was a special opening to last evening's Logan
County Board meeting when both Logan County
Sheriff's Department Detective John L. Bunner
and Logan County Emergency Management Agency Deputy Director Terry L. Storer
were honored with the Larry Shroyer Award. Both men
were surprised. Bunner thought he was called
there to be security for the meeting and Storer
to assist in giving the awards.
The award is a highly esteemed, selective
recognition given for lifetime professional
achievement in the field of law enforcement or
emergency services.
Pictured at right in the left-hand photo:
Having worked many years together in different
capacities, it was with great satisfaction and
strong sentiment that Emergency Management
Agency Director Dan Fulscher presented Storer
his award.
Pictured at left in right-hand photo: Holding
his award is Bunner. Next to him, the special
guest presenting the award is Darwin Shroyer,
nephew of Larry Shroyer.

Tuesday
evening, Darren Forgy of Prairie Engineers
presented a comprehensive report on the
condition of the streets and roads inside the
Lincoln city limits. By far the majority
of the streets in town are in "fair" condition,
but by comparison very few are in "excellent"
condition. Prairie Engineers will use this
data to develop a five-year infrastructure plan for
the city. Read more in the story below.
