Brian Bergen was hired Monday evening as the new executive director of the Lincoln & Logan County Development Partnership and began work Tuesday morning.  Bergen spent the day taking a tour of Lincoln and Logan County with administrative assistant Chris Huff and ended the day with his first appearance at a Lincoln City Council meeting. He told the council he sees a lot of potential in Logan County and commented on the fact that Lincoln has a downtown area that is populated with business, something not always found in smaller communities.

Late last week city crews made their way around the downtown area, picking up flowerpots to store away for the winter. The flowerpots have been a part of the downtown landscape most of the summer, but with cold weather approaching, it's time to gather them up. The pots were donated to the city by the Lincoln Rotary Club, and the plants were done by the From the Ground Up group.

If North Koreans have yet to find fortune, they haven't given up.
