In a split second on Sunday evening, all the excitement of the demolition derby at the Logan County Fair left the track and landed on the stage! The reaction on the stage was more that of being startled than afraid. As the demolition promotion crew, Miss Logan County Fair, Little Miss Logan County and their escort all watched, stunned, the demo car was pushed onto the stage. However, the table between the car and people stayed in place, everyone stayed seated, and no one was injured.  Because this happened in the first few seconds of the heat, the driver was allowed to go on and compete in the next round.

Sunday afternoon the National Railsplitting Contest was held at the Logan County Fair. This year the Logan County Railsplitting Association is taking a break from the annual September festival, but they still brought some of the most popular parts of the festival to Lincoln on Sunday. Among those favorites was the re-enactment of the christening of the city of Lincoln by Abraham Lincoln. The re-enactment was done in front of the grandstand prior to the demolition derby .
