What
a great evening for a ribbon cut at the 2016 Lincoln
Balloon Festival. The official ribbon cut for this
year's festival took place Thursday evening at the
Logan County Airport as part of the Media Night
event. On hand were members of the Lincoln/Logan
County Chamber of Commerce/Logan County Alliance,
Chamber Ambassadors, representatives from the city
of Lincoln, and the 2016 Miss Logan County Fair
Queen Michelle Paulus and Little Miss Logan County
Paisley Baker. After the singing of the National
Anthem by local vocal artist Lesleigh Bennett, the
Queen and Little Miss snipped the ribbon for the
festival to begin. Because of the direction of the
wind, balloonists decided to leave town for their
inflation and then fly into the airport. This year
Lincoln Daily News' Angela Reiners took the flight
with local balloonist Jim Ireland.
