LDN -- Top Stories

On Tuesday evening, the annual Light up a Life ceremony was hosted at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln. A large crowd gathered to remember loved ones passed and witness the lighting of the LUAL Christmas tree. Afterward, all were invited inside for a soup supper provided by ALMH and the ALMH Foundation.

This past Sunday, St. John's United Church of Christ held its annual coat donation day for Community Action. Virdeen Ingram (far left) talked about the collection of coats as well as hats, scarves, gloves and mittens for this year. She and her co-chair Marlene Wilmert officially presented the gifts to staff from the Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois. CAPCIL will be distributing those coats on December 10th from 9 a.m. to noon at the CAPCIL office located at 1800 Fifth Street in Lincoln. Those who are in need of coats for their children may contact Community Action by calling 217-732-2159.
