LDN -- Top Stories

For many of us, it is a sad day in Logan County as we learn that local historian and author Paul Beaver has passed away at age 82.

Mr. Beaver was well known for his love of Logan County history and his ability to record it in his books. He also wrote on the legacy of the Scully family and the history of Abraham Lincoln as it related to our community.

A former professor of history at Lincoln College and one of the early director/curators of the Lincoln Heritage Museum at Lincoln College, Mr. Beaver was also active in the community serving on many boards and committees including the Logan County Board and the Logan County Paramedics Association.

Mr. Beaver's history and the legacy he leaves behind is as rich as the history he wrote about. He will be missed by many.
