Masonry Restoration Technologies and Services owner Bill Walter of Lima, Ohio, stands outside the Logan County Courthouse on Tuesday afternoon. Walter was hired Tuesday evening by the Logan County Board to begin working on looking into what will be needed to restore the historic courthouse.

Walter has experience with well known and beloved landmarks across the country including the Wrigley Building in Chicago and Ellis Island in New York. He also worked on restoration of the Indiana State Capitol building.

On Monday, May 20th, representatives from Lincoln College's Conservation Program met with representatives of Illinois American Water at the Creekside Outdoor Center for Environmental Education. The College was awarded a $2,714 grant, as well as an in-kind donation of water testing through Illinois American Water’s certified lab in Belleville, valued at over $3,000.

On hand for the presentation left to right: Kelli Allison of Lincoln (Conservation Biology Major), Lead Faculty for Conservation Biology Dr. Julia Ossler, Illinois American Water’s Lincoln District Operations Superintendent Gabe Bowden, Lincoln College Division Chair for Mathematics, Science and Physical Education Dr. Teresa Saner, Campbell Creekside Outdoor Center Director Dr. Dennis Campbell, and Matt Langan of Illinois American Water.
