pink pictures are leading our Top Stories section today. Thanks to
Four Corners Lube, Grieme-Arnold Insurance, Jake’s Furniture,
Brainard Landings, Walgreens and Big R for choosing to support
breast cancer awareness by wearing pink in October.
You'll note that in this group of pictures there are fellas in every
group. They serve as good reminders that, first, men do get breast
cancer. While the percentage of male diagnoses is quite small
compared to women, it does happen.
But there is a second message; women are more often the caregivers.
They choose to look after spouses, children, even parents and
friends before they look after themselves. Guys, this is a reminder,
tell the women in your personal life that they are essential to you,
and you want them to look after their health. Ask the question even
if it is a bit embarrassing. Do you do self-exams? Are you paying
attention? Let them know they are important, and you want them to be
healthy. Those women will thank you for it.

Many
folks may already know that there is a new pharmacy in town. Lincoln
Pharmacy opened earlier this year next door to Imo's on Woodlawn
Road. Now, the walk-in pharmacy is adding to its services by
installing a drive-through for customer convenience. Last week crews
were working on pouring concrete around the south and east edges of
the pharmacy in preparation for the drive-through.
