A big thank you goes out to the staff of Central Elementary School; Hartsburg-Emden Elementary School students and staff, Hartem High School staff and kitchen staff; Lincoln Junior High School staff; Lincoln Public Library Carnegie staff, Annex staff and the Children's Room staff; and the staff of Mount Pulaski Library, for showing us your pink!

These ten pictures share a common denominator; they all represent knowledge, either teaching, learning, or supporting education. These people know that the more you know, the better off you will be throughout life.

The lesson can be carried through to knowing and understanding your cancer diagnosis. Don't be afraid to ask questions, do your own research, and ask for more than one professional opinion regarding your diagnosis. The more you know and understand your situation, the better you will be at making informed decisions regarding your future.

More to see and do at the Halloween FunFest - slideshow

Beginning Monday, October 28, 2019 at 7 a.m., south Kickapoo Street, between Wyatt Avenue and Clinton Street in Lincoln will be closed while contractors are resurfacing the road.

The closure will include the intersection at Decatur Street and south Kickapoo Street.

High school students, parents and local traffic should find alternate routes on secondary roads. No commercial thru traffic is permitted downtown other than for local deliveries.

Be advised that inclement weather could delay work. Once construction begins, it is expected to last approximately three days. The road will reopen once work is complete.
