Over the weekend, Wal-Mart and Target announced they would limit the number of customers allowed inside their stores across the country. In Lincoln on Sunday that practice was apparent, as orange snow fence marked the route for shoppers entering the grocery end of the store. The entrance to home and pharmacy, which many consider the main entrance, was locked.

On the east end of the building, the outdoor pick-up point for groceries was busy. Those who are trying to place orders are finding that it is taking two or three stabs at it to get an available pick-up time. One of the carry-out clerks at the outdoor pick-up said that this service was picking up substantially as more and more are choosing not to go inside the store.

An LDN staff member utilized the service over the weekend and found it 99% satisfactory. Quantities on most items were limited to two per order. Meat is still a big issue it appears. When the shopper did the order on Thursday afternoon, the meat and fish products ordered were approved. But by Sunday, when the order was finally ready to be picked up those products were sold out again, and taken off the order.
