Well what do you think? It is now easier to find Lincoln Daily News at 520 Broadway Street in Lincoln. On Monday morning, Noah Atkins of Lincoln Printers arrived early and quickly installed the new signage on the building. The sign features the new LDN logo.

“We’re excited to finally have our name on the building and hope that it will help people find us when they are looking. Thanks so much to Noah for a beautiful sign and our own graphic artist Jeff Wyles for designing the new logo,” said Karen Castelein and Nila Smith.

NO STORM SIREN TESTING TODAY IN LINCOLN
If you hear the storm sirens today seek shelter

At the Monday night meeting of the Lincoln City Council, Fire Chief Bob Dunovsky announced that the standard first Tuesday of the month testing of storm sirens will NOT take place today due to expectations of severe weather.

Therefore, he said if anyone is outside today and hears the sirens, the threat is real and they should seek shelter immediately.

Lincoln Speedway and city compromise on race curfews, extending mandated end time by 30 minutes for May 11th special event

Monday evening Lincoln Aldermen reached a compromise on the request to allow curfew extensions for four special race dates at Lincoln Speedway.  The council instead approved a curfew extension for one race to be held on Thursday May 11th.  The curfew for a Thursday school night is now 9 p.m.  For the May 11th race the curfew will be pushed back to 9:30 p.m.  If needed the speedway may still use up to 30 minutes of extensions, meaning at the very latest the races will conclude at 10 p.m. on Thursday, May 11th.

The amended motion passed with a vote of 5-2.

LDN will provide a more detailed report in a future edition.
