Armella
Blanford, 84, of Lincoln died at 10:40 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, 2001, at
the Christian Village.
Her
funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Marion Henderson officiating.
Burial
will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.
Visitation
will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs.
Blanford was a bookkeeper for 30 years for Parker Insurance Agency
in Lincoln.
She
was born April 22, 1917, in Lincoln to Frank and Mabel D. Lucas
Myers. She married Frederick A. Blanford on Dec. 25, 1935, in
Lincoln. He died June 12, 1972.
Surviving
Mrs. Blanford are two sons, Frederick Blanford (and Margaret) of
Lincoln and Steven Blanford (and Nancy) of Denver, Colo.; one
daughter, Jayne Zimmer (and David) of Lincoln; seven grandchildren;
and four great-grandchildren.
She
was also preceded in death by one daughter, Myrna Kaye Kendrick; one
grandson; one brother; and one sister.
She
was a member of Lincoln Christian Church, where she taught Sunday
School for 37 years, attended the Friendship Corner class and was a
charter member of the Jolly Seniors.

Yvonne
A. Pope, 92, of Lincoln died at 4:25 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001, at
the Christian Village in Lincoln.
Her
funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Tim Searby officiating.
Burial
will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.
Visitation
will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs.
Pope worked as dietary supervisor at the Christian Village before
her retirement.
She
was born March 28, 1909, in Broadwell to George W. and Agnes Kattner
Rickords. She married Leonard Tucker on June 27, 1931. He died in
1937. She married Woodford J. Pope on June 25, 1947. He died March
23, 1965.
Surviving
are one daughter, Lois Snyder (and Buck) of Lincoln; one sister,
Bette Martin (and Pete) of Joliet; one grandson, Keith Snyder (and
Beth) of Lincoln; one granddaughter, Sara McCain (and Aaron) of
Lincoln; and three great-grandchildren.
She
was also preceded in death by one son, one brother and one sister.
She
was a member of Lincoln Christian Church, where she attended the
Yadnus Sunday School class and was a member of the Jolly Seniors and
the Lydia Circle.
Memorials
may be made to her church or to the Christian Village in Lincoln.
