Mildred Crumpler
Mildred M. Crumpler, 85, of New Holland
died at 5:07 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2002, at Memorial Medical
Center in Springfield.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m.
Sunday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Her funeral, officiated by the Rev.
Doug Rettig, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist
Church of New Holland.
Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery,
San Jose.
Mrs. Crumpler was a retired teacher.
She taught 44 years at Victory, San Jose and New Holland grade
schools.
She was born Jan. 18, 1917, near Emden
in Logan County, to John W. and Hannah Manus Cross. She married
William H. Crumpler on Nov. 28, 1942, in Manhattan, Kan. He preceded
her in death.
Survivors are one son, Kim W. (and
Fran) Crumpler of Louisville, Ky., and one grandson, Ehren Crumpler
of Fort Collins, Colo.
She was also preceded in death by one
son, Thomas Durwood Crumpler.
She was a member of the United
Methodist Church of New Holland, United Methodist Women, the Know
Your Bible class, American Legion Auxiliary, Retired Teachers
Association, New Holland Women’s Club and the Girl Scout Council.

Donald Zeck
Donald O. Zeck, 77, of Mason City, died
at 9:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002, at St. John’s
Hospital in Springfield.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m.
Friday at Hurley Funeral Home, 603 E. Chestnut in Mason City.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday
at the United Methodist Church of Mason City, with the Rev. Bruce
Bolin Ghitalla officiating.
Burial will be in Mason City Cemetery.
Zeck worked for the
Mason City Service company in Easton.
He was a U.S. Army
veteran of World War II.
He was born Oct. 26,
1924, in Mason City to Otto and Clara Riepe Zeck. He married Doris
Wilson on Aug. 15, 1954, at the First Methodist Church in Mason
City. She survives.
Other survivors are
three sons, Bill Zeck of Third Lake, Randy (and Ellen) Zeck of Mason
City and Garry Zeck of Indianapolis, Ind.; one daughter, Kathy Zeck-Kennedy
(and husband Bill) of Plano; seven grandchildren; and one sister,
Alice (and Wayne) Robertson of Mason City.
He was preceded in
death by three brothers and one sister.
He was a member of
American Legion Post 496 in Mason City.
