[AUG. 15, 2003]  ST. LOUIS -- Bailey Anne Bassi, daughter of Dale and Susan Bassi of Lincoln, Ill., and Kathleen Bassi of Chicago, received an undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis on May 16. Bassi was among 2,502 students who received degrees at the university's 142nd commencement ceremony. The graduates, their family and friends, and university faculty, administration and trustees, gathered in Brookings Quadrangle on campus, where former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright delivered the commencement address.

During the university's Eliot Honors Convocation on May 9, Bassi was also recognized for induction into Golden Key National Honor Society and Sigma Tau Delta, an international honor society in English. She is a 1999 graduate of Lincoln Community High School in Lincoln, Ill.
