[DEC. 15, 2003]  ELGIN -- Lincoln College finished the first half of its basketball season on a losing note as Elgin handed the Lady Lynx a 65-48 setback Saturday afternoon. The loss drops the Lady Lynx to 5-9 for the season.

Elgin managed a 28-23 halftime lead and broke the game open in the second half with 37 points while holding Lincoln College to just 25 points. Shelton led the second-half surge as she scored 10 of her game-high 12 points in the final 20 minutes.

Jessica Hamman scored eight points in each half to lead the Lynx with 16 points. The Lynx were outscored 23-17 in field goals and 6-1 from 3-point land.

Lincoln College (48) -- Rivera 0-1-1, White 0-0-0, Evans 1-0-2, Ingram 4-0-9, Rodgers 1-0-2, Cruz 0-0-0, Spears 1-0-2, Hill 1-0-2, Gore 0-0-0, Ernst 4-0-8, Hamman 5-6-16, Rucks 1-4-6, Coleman 0-0-0. Totals: 17-11-48. Three-point goals: Ingram.

Elgin (65) -- Harvey 4-0-9, Stoll 5-0-12, Shelton 6-0-12, Lee 2-0-6, Lukasik 1-0-2, Seleke 3-0-6, Marchewka 4-0-9, Traylor 3-1-7, Guihan 1-0-2. Totals: 29-1-65. Three-point goals: Harvey, Stoll 2, Lee 2, Marchewka.
