[DEC. 15, 2003]  RIVER GROVE -- Chris Ravenna, 141, took first-place honors for Lincoln College in the Triton College wrestling tournament Saturday. Ravenna decisioned Kyle Swadley of Merrimac, 11-2, to take top honors in his weight class. A.J. Blahut, 174, defeated teammate Dustin Gordon to also take top honors, while Gordon finished second.

No team scores were kept, and Ravenna and Blahut were the lone first-place winners for the Lynx. Three Lincoln College wrestlers were able to finish second.

At 133 pounds, Keil Barnhisel lost to Thomas Campbell of Merrimac in 1:33 to place second. Also finishing second was Pete Mueller, who lost a 9-5 decision to Ryan Menner of Merrimac in the heavyweight class.  

Results for the Lincoln College wrestlers:

125 -- Jermaine Catching (Merrimac) defeated Josh Boyd (Lincoln), 10-6. Boyd finished fourth.

133 -- Thomas Campbell (Merrimac) won by fall over Keil Barnhisel (Lincoln), 1:33. Barnhisel finished second.

133 -- Demond Wilbourn (Lincoln) won by injury default to finish third.

141 -- Chris Ravenna (Lincoln) decisioned Kyle Swadley (Merrimac), 11-2. Ravenna finished first.

149 -- Kevin Amy (Lincoln) won by injury default to finish fifth.

157 -- Brian Johnson (Muskegon) decisioned Steve Woeckener (Lincoln), 6-2. Woeckener finished second.

165 -- Frank Beasley (Lincoln) pinned Todd Davis (Merrimac), 4:21. Beasley finished third.

165 -- Ben Murray (Lincoln) decisioned Tom Jansek (Muskegon), 5-1. Murray finished fif

174 -- A. J. Blahut (Lincoln) decisioned Dustin Gordon (Lincoln), 6-5. Blahut finished first, Gordon finished second.

Heavy -- Ryan Menner (Merrimac) decisioned Pete Mueller (Lincoln), 9-5. Mueller finished second.

Heavy -- Kyle Stevenson (Lincoln) decisioned Ed Florance (Mott), 4-1. Stevenson finished third.
