Dorothy
Melnick
Dorothy V. Melnick, 90, Lincoln died
Friday (Oct. 17, 2003) at 4:43 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in
Springfield.
A private graveside service will be on
Monday at New Union Cemetery, Lincoln. Father James Cravens will
officiate.
There is no visitation.
Holland and Barry Funeral Home of
Lincoln is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Melnick did volunteer work at the
Pink Shutter for 26 years.
She was born June 11, 1913, in
Brooklyn, N.Y., to Louis H. Jr. and Evelyn Ray Baldwin Vogel. She
married Michael B. Melnick on Dec. 2, 1933, in Brooklyn, N.Y. He
preceded her in death.
Survivors are three sons, Michael A.
Melnick of Evanston, Louis D. Melnick of Evanston and Peter G.
Melnick of Lincoln.
She was also preceded in death by two
sisters, Helen Mackintosh and Lois Maddoloni.
She was a member of Trinity Episcopal
Church of Lincoln, DAR, Lincoln Woman's Club, Chester Woman's Club
and had lifetime membership in the ALMH Auxiliary.

Dennis
Lenhardt
Dennis R. Lenhardt, 48, of Lincoln died
Wednesday (Oct. 15, 2003) at 6:45 p.m. at his home.
His funeral was Saturday morning at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Tom Gerdts and
the Rev. Dan Wissmann officiating. Visitation preceded the service.
Burial is in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.
Mr. Lenhardt was a certified public accountant.
He was born June 10, 1955, in Bloomington-Normal
to Ray P. and Doris M. Klemm Lenhardt. He married Kathleen Sundquist
in July 1980. She died in June 1986.
Survivors are his parents, of Lincoln, and one
brother, Edwin (and Nancy Grimm) of Danvers.
He was also preceded in death by his
grandparents.
He graduated from Illinois State University in
1977, receiving his bachelor's degree in business accounting and
C.P.A.
He was loved by all who knew him.

Flora 'Jane' Sharp
Flora "Jane" Sharp,
88, of Lincoln died Friday (Oct. 17, 2003) at 3:25 a.m. at St.
Clara's Manor.
A graveside service
will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Dodge Grove Cemetery, Mattoon. Jim
Dona will officiate.
There is no
visitation.
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home of Lincoln is in charge of
arrangements.
Mrs. Sharp was a cook
for elementary schools and worked for the Lincoln Courier.
She was born April
24, 1915, at Bruce to Zion Z. and Susan Jane Edwards Buckalew. She
married Loren Curtis Sharp on Jan. 7, 1935, in Shelbyville. He died
Dec. 10, 1991.
Survivors are one
daughter, Brenda (and Galen) Wickline of Lincoln; two sons, Dennis
L. (and Susan) Sharp of Lincoln and Curtis Duane (and Linda) Sharp
of Sherman; a daughter-in-law, Karen Sharp of Springfield; four
granddaughters; one stepgrandson; two great-granddaughters; two
step-great-grandsons; and one sister, Edna Tonigan of Bowie, Md.
She was also preceded
in death by the aunt and uncle who raised her, three brothers, one
sister and one son, Larren L.
She was a member of
the Christian Church at Gays.
She was fond of
nature and animals, especially her cats.
Memorials may be made to multiple
sclerosis or leukemia research or to
Hospice
Care of Illinois.

Daniel 'Boon' Lee
Daniel Vernon "Boon" Lee, 48, of
Lincoln died Wednesday (Oct. 15, 2003) at 6:42 p.m. at his home.
Visitation and a rosary service were on
Friday at Kerrigan-Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln.
His funeral service was on Saturday
morning at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lincoln, with Father
Thomas Taylor officiating.
Burial is in Holy Cross Cemetery,
Lincoln.
Mr. Lee had worked at Lincoln
Development Center for many years and previously for the city of
Lincoln.
He was born May 2, 1955, in Lincoln to
Vernon D. and Dorothy Bates Lee. He married Jean E. Shanle on March
21, 1981, in Lincoln. She survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Brian
Lee, a student at the University of Illinois in Urbana, and Scott
Lee, a student at Lincoln Community High School; and his mother and
stepfather, Dorothy and William Johnson of Lincoln.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Mr. Lee was the organizer of the
Lincoln Fireworks Committee, first vice chairman of the Logan County
Republican Party, a precinct committeeman and served on the East
Lincoln Township board.
He was an antique collector and loved
auctions.
