Lorenzi
John B. Lorenzi, 73, of Lincoln
died Friday (Sept. 12, 2003) at 3:50 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center
in Springfield.
A graveside service will be at
1:30 p.m. Monday at Keys Cemetery, rural Beason.
A memorial service will be at 6
p.m. Monday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Mr. Lorenzi retired from the
Illinois Department of Revenue in Springfield. He was also a
professional musician and drummer.
He was a veteran of the U.S.
Marines and played in the Marine Corps band
He was born June 24,
1930, in Ottawa to Bart and Lucille Comcioli Lorenzi.
Survivors are one
son, John C. Lorenzi of Springfield; two daughters, Yvonne Matson of
Lincoln and Mary (and Gary) Richard of Springfield; two
grandchildren; and one brother, James Lorenzi of Mokena.
He was preceded in
death by his parents.
He was a member of
Holy Family Church in Lincoln, American Legion Post 263, American
Federation of Musicians Local 301 and Rotary International.

Irene Booth
Jessie Irene Booth, 91, of Minier died
Thursday (Sept. 11, 2003) at 8:21 a.m. at Eureka Community Hospital
in Eureka.
Her funeral was on
Monday morning at Armington Christian Church, with Ed Loyd officiating.
Visitation was Sunday evening at the church.
Burial is in Minier Cemetery.
Quiram Funeral Home of Atlanta handled arrangements.
Mrs. Booth and her husband were
lifetime farmers in the Minier area. She had also been employed by
the Woolen Mill store in Bloomington.
She was born Dec. 11, 1911, in Wayne
County to Loren and Mabel Emmons Orr. She married Kenneth W. Booth
on June 24, 1933, in rural Armington.
Survivors are her husband; two
daughters, Kathryn (and Kenneth) Frus of Washington and Martha (and
Larry) Paustian of East Peoria; and three grandchildren, Carolyn
Frus, Janet Frus and Ashley Paustian.
She was preceded in death by one
sister, Allene Reid.
Mrs. Booth was active in the Armington
Woman's Club and Tazewell County Home Bureau. She was also was a 4-H
leader and Sunday school teacher.
Memorials may be made to the Armington
Christian Church or the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka.

Nelda Presswood
Nelda Mae Presswood, 61, of Lincoln
died Friday (Sept. 12, 2003) at 7:15 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center
in Springfield.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m.
Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. Mark
Carnahan and David Pendley, director of Christian education,
officiating.
Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery,
Beason.
Mrs. Presswood retired in 2001 from St.
Gobain Containers, where she worked in quality control.

Church in Lincoln, Glass Bottle Blowers Local 117 and the
International Glass Bottle Blowers Association.

Joseph
Kafka
Joseph A. Kafka, 80,
of Rochester, a 50-year Mount Pulaski resident, died Friday (Sept.
12, 2003) at 5:25 a.m. at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with Bill Shanle and John Robertson officiating.
Visitation was on Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
Burial will be in
Mount Pulaski Cemetery.
Mr. Kafka was a
teacher, principal and superintendent for District 23 before he
retired.
He served in the U.S.
Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945.
He was born April 21,
1923, in Lab, Czechoslavakia, to John and Josephine Visvadra Kafka.
He married Janie O'Bryan on May 18, 1944, in Dyersburg, Tenn.
Survivors are his
wife, of Rochester; one daughter, Camille (and Robert) Chiles of
Rochester; one grandson, Michael Chiles of Rochester; one
granddaughter, Sheila Cantrall of Rochester; and six
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in
death by one son, Kenneth Kafka, and one granddaughter, Margo
Chiles.
He was a member of
Mount Pulaski Christian Church, Mount Pulaski Rotary and Who's Who
in American Education
